The ATM Security Association (ASA) has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our online information gathering and dissemination practices.

Our overall policy is extremely simple: If we collect information from you, we use it only for the purposes for which it was collected, and the other limited purposes outlined below. We will not sell or share your personally identifiable information with any third party.

Types of Information Collected; Uses of Information

We collect some non-personally identifiable information automatically and some in our forms and online surveys. Non-personally identifiable information might include your IP address, the type of browser or operating system you use, the domain name from which you linked to our site, your zip code, your age, your income level and other general demographic information. We use this non-personally identifiable information to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site; and we may share it with our affiliates, or with our other business partners on an aggregated basis.

Our site's forms and online surveys may also request or require users to give us personally identifiable information (like their name, telephone number, home address and e-mail address). We may use the information from our forms and surveys to contact the user, but users may opt-out of receiving future mailings (see the choice/opt-out section below). While there is no such thing as "perfect" security on the Internet, we will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of your personally identifiable information. This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. However, we do not assume any liability for third-party usage of your personal information, whether obtained legally or illegally from our system.

Data Transfer and Storage

If you are visiting our Site from outside the United States, be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located, and our central database is operated. By using our Service, you consent to any transfer of this information.

Data Retention

We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with access to our services. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We maintain one or more databases to store your personal data and may keep such information indefinitely.

Correction and Removal

Cookies

We use cookies to make our website easier to use and to deliver a personalized experience. This includes determining whether you have visited our site previously and remembering any preferences that you set while using our site. Our cookies cannot retrieve any other data from a hard drive or obtain an e-mail address.

Children

ASA does not seek to collect any information from children under the age of 13. If any child provides us with personally identifiable information, a parent or guardian may notify us and such information will be deleted from our records.

Opting Out

We understand your privacy is important to you. Use the tools below to control the targeted ads you receive.

• You may opt out of receiving targeted ads from companies that perform ad targeting services, through the DAA website.

• Canadian Self-regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising as managed by the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC). You may opt out of receiving targeted ads from companies that perform ad targeting services via the DAAC website.

• We also adhere to the European Interactive Advertising Digital Alliance (EDAA) guidelines for online advertising and you may opt out via their Your Online Choices website.

• Please note that when using the ad industry opt-out tools described above:

  • If you opt-out we may still collect some data about your online activity for operational purposes (such as fraud prevention) but it won't be used by us for the purpose of targeting ads to you.
  • If you use multiple browsers or devices you may need to execute this opt out on each browser or device.
• To opt out of receiving targeted ads that are based on your behavior across different mobile applications follow the below instructions, for iOS and Android devices:
  • iOS 7 or Higher: Go to your Settings > Select Privacy > Select Advertising > Enable the “Limit Ad Tracking” setting
  • For Android devices with OS 2.2 or higher and Google Play Services version 4.0 or higher: Open your Google Settings app > Ads > Enable “Opt out of interest-based advertising”

Opting out will not prevent you from seeing ads, but those ads will likely be less relevant because they won’t be tailored to your interests. The ads might, for instance, be randomly generated or based on the web page you are visiting.
