It is widely recognised in the industry that attacks against cash in ATMs are increasing in range and, in some countries, in severity, for example, when criminals use gas or solid explosives to get the ATM safe open. Attacks with gas and solid explosives introduce risks to humans in addition to their threat to property and assets.
